This Week: Worldwide Photowalk
This is one of my favorite buildings in town, the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. I am a big fan of musical theater and this building is the home of both our local theater company and of the touring productions tha roll into town. The sculptures are titled In Minds and they are by British artist Tony Cragg.

I have moved my photoblog to Pixyblog. You can still access it at http://www.photine.net. Make sure to update your news feeds if they don't automatically update.

This Week: Worldwide Photowalk
Doesn't look like the middle of a bustling metropolis does it? This is in fact steps from the skyscrapers of the downtown skyline. Such a lovely little spot.

This Week: Worldwide Photowalk
I have another photo titled Esperson Reflected, but the title was so perfect I had to use it again. The Esperson building is one of my favorites in Houston and is a frequent target of my camera.

I don't know what this is, but it was cool. I had to lean over a railing and hold my camera out because my arms are short.

This Week: Worldwide Photowalk
Saturday I participated in Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photowalk. Photowalking IS my photography style. I don't do portraits or studio shots. The only way I know how to take pictures is to go out into the world and see what I can find.

This is on the banks of Buffalo Bayou. These beautiful purple flowers were in full bloom on both sides. I'm so glad I got to see it.

I had my camera, my head was swimming with photography talk and I was on a wide street with consistently moving traffic. It was too hard to resist.

This Week: The Cozy Details
This is just one shelf of a tall bookshelf crammed full of cookbooks. I wish I had the skill or patience to learn cooking, but it just isn't one of my interests. Luckily I got to be the beneficiary of my host's cooking talents.

This Week: The Cozy Details
One of my hosts is a voracious reader. I always described myself as a reader, but after meeting her, I must admit that I am only an amateur. I dream of having a cozy reading nook like this with a comfortable chair and good lighting. Maybe one day.

This Week: The Cozy Details
I had dinner at a friend's house on Saturday night. I love their house because it is so cozy, warm and inviting, a reflection of my hosts. They are currently discussing a possible trip to Japan in the future thus the map selection. I love details like that!

In other news I went back to work last week working on my own relaxed schedule. This week all the teacher's come back and now I am back on the districts tighter schedule. Next week, students.
