This Week: Art Car 2008
Yes, all of the designs on this car are created with yarn. I can't imagine the hours it took to create it.
Unfortunately this year's parade was marred by the death of Tom Jones, one of the curators of the Art Car Museum here in Houston. He was killed early in the morning after the parade by a drunk driver. He was sitting outside the museum, no doubt happy with another very successful parade. There is a lot of emotion in the city with this story because whether you are heavily involved in the art community or just attend the parade once a year, everyone has a connection to the art cars.
