This Week: Art Car 2008
You are looking at art car #1, the Fruit Mobile. This is the car that started it all back in 1986. The car was created by a Houston artist for an auction for The Orange Show Foundation. The Orange Show sponsored the first art car parade in 1988 with 40 cars. It is now the oldest and largest art car parade in the world with over 250 entries. The Orange Show is an interesting story in itself and this video gives a good background of the organization.
