This Week: The International Festival
I first heard of the Rock Churches in Ethiopia when I recently visited the Lucy exhibit at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. I saw these beautiful structures carved out of the earth and wished, as I had a thousand times before, that I could travel the world. You can see photos of the churches at the Sacred Destinations website.
For the festival, artist Kati Ozanic-Lemberger recreated a life size replica of one of the churches. You can read more about her and the artwork at the HMNS blog.
