This Week: The San Jacinto Monument

I had planned on going to get some sunset shots as well as some night shots. The evening I planned on going I was running late so I unfortunately only got night shots. The thought of going back for sunset shots was quickly banished once I ran into the hordes of mosquitos. I have bites all over and that is WITH mosquito repellent. This is a great location and I want to go back (especially since I hear rumors that they are going to fill in the reflecting pool to return it to what it looked like in 1836), but not before I get the whole bee keeper helmet, mosquito netting gear. *scratch, scratch, scratch* The things we do for our art.

In other news, I turn 36 today. Anyone who has been around me for any length of time knows that I have feelings about years and numbers. I didn't like 28, I liked 33, didn't like 32, liked 35. Maybe I don't like even numbers. I don't have that great a feeling about 36, but when I look back at 35, it wasn't so great so I'm starting to think my 'number feeling' isn't exactly accurate. Guess we will find out a year from now when I look back at the year that is about to be.
