This Week: Downtown Photowalk
A few weeks ago I went on a photowalk with a photography group from Meetup.com. Just this in itself shows how much I have changed in the last two years. I did not know a single person going on the meet up and I hardly gave it a thought as I showed up for lunch and then the walk. For years I have struggled with what I would call shyness, but in reality was probably closer to social anxiety disorder. It is something I will still have to work on, but progress has definitely been made.
It was also nice to be with new people outside my normal circle. Close friends know my old circle from Flickr has brought more pain than happiness the last few months (although that is hopefully easing as I make some changes) and it was nice to not be the one in charge and just be one of the other photographers in the group. I will definitely be going to more meetups with this group.
