This Week: Night Photography
I took my first tentative steps into night photography thanks to fellow photoblogger, Martin. We ventured out Friday night even though the forecast was for rain (and it didn't just rain it poured). I have night shots, but never tried setting up with a tripod, in manual mode with longer exposures.
Boy did I make a ton of mistakes through no fault of my excellent tutor. I think of it as telling a young child that a stove is hot. Sometimes a child has to touch it anyway or in my case completely over expose and blow out photos before she can fully understand. So there are definite problems with the shots you will see this week, but they are special to me as markers of my first try.
Night photography has completely captured my imagination and it has finally spurred me to learn about exposure and the more technical aspects of my camera. I can't wait to get out and try again.
