We embark on a new era here at Photine. Film. I guess everyone comes back around eventually.

I have a little secret to share. I don't really know how to do a lot of things on my camera. I'm not good at aperture or shutter speed or any of those other things that good photographers are supposed to know. I do a pretty good job of faking it. I've always thought about a toy camera because I love the images they produced and once I found out that there are hardly any settings, I was sold.

Walking into the film world is an extremely scary step for someone who is completely and totally digital. I didn't even own a scanner. A huge thanks to my fellow Houston Photobloggers for their advice and encouragement and for answering my endless emails. Thank you to Chris (who sold me the camera), Chris, Todd and Warren. You guys are amazing and I'm glad to learn at your feet.

So the rest of this week will be pictures from my very first roll on the Holga. Here on after you will see Holga shots mixed up with the rest of my themes. I will always be a digital photographer, but it will be fun to play with the Holga (and whatever else is inevitably to follow).
