April 24th, 2006 | Texas Permalink | Comment (3) This just screams Texas to me. The blue skies with white streaky clouds and the extra big (because everything is big in Texas) San Jacinto monument. The monument was built in commemoration of the battle of San Jacinto in which the Texians (yes spelled correctly) defeated the Mexican Army and captured General Santa Anna. This led to Texas being annexed by the United States. Just to be a typical Texan you should know that this monument is bigger than the Washington Monument in DC and the star on top is 220 tons!
